Featured Case Study
Project Lucero Co-creation of an AI ecosystem to strengthen teaching and school leadership capacities.
The Challenge
The Dominican Republic faces a complex challenge: shifting from expanding coverage to improving learning quality. In alliance with Instituto 512 and the Ministry of Education, Mentu took on the mission of creating technological solutions to strengthen the capacities of teachers and school leaders for this new stage.
The Solution
An 18-month project in two phases. In the first 6 months, we developed an ecosystem of 6 AI tools through a learning engineering process: diagnosis with i512, the Ministry, and school teams, prioritization of processes and practices to strengthen, and iterative design with incremental validation from stakeholders.
Ecosystem of 6 Tools
We designed a suite of role-differentiated AI tools focused on pedagogical reflection. Success was the result of a rigorous co-creation process: Listen first, code later.

Regional Projects
Teach Peru & UGEL Ascope
Rural Literacy in Low-Connectivity Contexts
Strengthening foundational literacy teaching in public rural schools
The Challenge
63% of second-grade students in rural areas like Ascope do not reach expected reading comprehension levels. Rural teachers lack structured tools to implement a foundational literacy approach at scale.
The Solution
Through learning engineering, two specialized tools were co-designed: Reading Comprehension Planner for structured teaching, and Learning Experience Creator to connect reading with local context challenges.
